St Laurence is a Grade I listed building lying within the Telscombe Village Conservation Area. Records indicate evidence of a church on this site since AD 966. The nave and chancel are mid-12th century, whilst the north aisle, tower and north-east chapel were added in the late 12th century. The chapel was rebuilt in Victorian times, when a number of other alterations to the church were also carried out. The wall paintings on the east wall above the chancel arch are modern: they were painted in 1905 as part of the redecoration of the church donated by Ambrose Gorham.
